Purchasing and Inventory Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated and reliable Purchasing and Inventory Manager. Your role in this position will be to purchase raw material, and to maintain, monitor, and report on the company’s inventory levels.

A successful Purchaser/Inventory Manager will be a trustworthy professional with outstanding record-keeping and analytical abilities. The chosen candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data.

The purchasing and Inventory Manager will oversee the activities of the purchasing and manage the inventory of material for the company.

Essential Job Duties: 

1. Purchase supplies, material, and parts for the company

2. Negotiates contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.

3. Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.

4. Collaborates with sales, engineering, and other departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.

5. Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability.

6. Maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.

7. Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.

8. Manage of defective material when arises.

9. Document daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory.

10. Responsible for year-end physical inventory.

11. Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as ERP software.

  • Clearly and accurately communicates with ALL disciplines within our organization.

  • Works well in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Has the ability to prioritize tasks.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management, preferred.

  • At least five years of buying/purchasing experience required

  • At least five years of inventory control experience.

  • Must have knowledge of structural steel

Training Requirements: 

  • General Safety

  • damaged goods and Foreign substances

  • Quality System Awareness

  • Data entry into VISUAL ERP system

Work Environment: 

  • Work performed mostly in a desk/office environment and may occasionally work on the manufacturing operations floor with minimal elements such as noise and dust.
