Fitter/Welder

Abesco an established company specialized in Steel Fabrication.  The Fitter/Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling and welding structural steel while maintaining quality and accuracy

Main responsibilities include:

• Fabricate, Assemble and Fit Structural Steel

• Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation.

• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates using tack welding, bolting or other methods in specified locations.

• Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding.

• Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools.

• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times and safe work practices are adhered to.

 

Desired Skills. Knowledge and Experience

• CWB Certified and 1 - 2 years experience in a related field

• Read and interpret Fabrication Detail Drawings

• Accurately Layout Parts as per Specifications

• Ability to Operate Overhead Cranes

• Ability to Weld Parts as per Drawings and CWB Standards

• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures

• A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers 

• Communication Skills – Both Written and Oral
